I do not want my back cracked/popped/adjusted, can I still come in?

Dr. Van Wagenen is well-equipped with a variety of techniques to effectively mobilize joints without an audible pop (aka "cavitation") if preferred.

Do you provide Physical Therapy?

The term 'Physical Therapy' refers to a profession. Physical Therapists utilize stretches and strengthening exercises to rehabilitate patients. Dr. Van Wagenen implements a wide array of therapeutic exercises to effectively treat her patients. We are located in a 6,000 sq. ft. strength & conditioning facility and are able to cater to the specific needs of any patient with any musculoskeletal problem.

Do you perform x-rays on every patient?

Best practice guidelines specify that diagnostic imaging is not required for every patient unless indicated via history and/or physical examination. During your first visit Dr. Van Wagenen will inform you if imaging is needed prior to treatment. The vast majority of the time imaging is not required prior to treatment.

Can Dr. Van Wagenen order x-rays, MRIs, and CT scans?

Dr. Van Wagenen may order diagnostic imaging if indicated. She is well-trained in reading x-rays, MRIs, and CT scans. Upon receiving the radiology report she will thoroughly review the report and its findings with you at your next visit.

How long do appointments last?

· New patient appointments average 45-minutes.

· Subsequent appointments average 30-minutes.

Can Dr. Van Wagenen refer me to another specialist?

Dr. Van Wagenen co-manages patient cases with a variety of local practitioners including podiatrists, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, pain management doctors, internal medicine doctors and acupuncturists.

We offer Saturday morning hours and schedule by appointment only.

Do you accept insurance?

Every insurance policy is different. Our receptionist will gather the necessary information from you to verify benefits by your first visit.

I do not have insurance, do you offer a self-pay option?

We offer reasonable self-pay options for patients who do not have insurance or when insurance is not feasible. Our self-pay structure allows us to work with anyone's budget and is generally more affordable and flexible than paying towards a high deductible.

Our goal is to resolve pain and improve quality of life quickly, efficiently, & safely. Once we reach your goal, you are discharged from active care. Dr. Van Wagenen places a huge emphasis on self-care by equipping patients with the knowledge and tools required to prevent future episodes & successfully manage their condition on their own.

How many treatments will it take before I am better?

This is a difficult question to answer because patient progress depends on multiple factors: chronicity, general physical and mental health, compliance & severity of symptoms. However, the majority of our patients show significant improvement with pain and/or function after 2 to 4 therapy sessions
