Herniated Discs

Herniated discs, also known as "slipped discs", typically affect the neck (cervical spine) and low back (lumbar spine). Depending on the size and location the herniated disc may put pressure on the nerves exiting the spine causing nerve pain that radiates down the arm or leg.

Nerve-related symptoms usually felt in the arm or leg include:
-sharp, shooting pain
-burning pain
-numbness
-tingling, "pins & needles"
-muscular weakness (weak grip strength, foot drop)
-sciatica

Flexion-distraction decompression therapy is a safe and effective treatment for both cervical and lumbar herniated discs.
